Manage Tags

Tags can be created, edited, and organized to keep your program structured and easy to navigate. Managing tags effectively helps you maintain consistency and avoid clutter.

Where Tags Are Managed

Tags are managed separately for people and activities:

  • People Tags – managed within Groups
  • Activity Tags – managed within an Activity or Activity settings

Each area maintains its own set of tags.

Create a Tag

You can create tags while editing an item or from the tag management interface.

  1. Open a person or activity
  2. Locate the Tags field
  3. Type a new tag name
  4. Select Create

The new tag will be saved and available for reuse.

Edit or Rename a Tag

To keep your tags consistent, you can rename them:

  • Open the tag management view
  • Select the tag you want to edit
  • Update the name
  • Save your changes

Renaming a tag updates all items that use it.

Delete a Tag

If a tag is no longer needed, you can remove it.

  • Open the tag management view
  • Select the tag
  • Delete the tag

Deleting a tag removes it from all associated items.

Use Tag Colors

Tags can include colors to make them easier to identify visually.

  • Choose distinct colors for important tags
  • Use consistent color patterns across your program

Color helps users scan and recognize tags quickly.

Keep Tags Organized

Good tag management improves usability:

  • Avoid duplicate or similar tags (e.g. "VIP" vs "Vip")
  • Use consistent naming conventions
  • Limit the number of tags to what is useful

When to Use Tags

  • Highlight special participants (e.g. VIP, Speaker)
  • Categorize activities (e.g. Workshop, Training)
  • Enable quick filtering across lists

Tags are best used for flexible organization, not for controlling access.
