Stripe Integration

Overview

Eventene utilizes Stripe (www.stripe.com) to handle payment transactions. In order to process payments within any of your events managed by Eventene, you will need to create a (free) account on Stripe.com, then link (associated) it with your Eventene account. If you already have a Stripe account, you can link your existing account.

Once the account is linked, organizers can add products for sales for any event, such as attendance fees, tickets, merchandise, and donations.

Note that with all paid transactions, Stripe serves as the system of record for the transaction log. Eventene displays the transactions on an Orders tab on the Payments menu page.

Creating a new Stripe account

If your organization already has a Stripe account, contact the person with access to that Stripe account and proceed to the next step below (Linking Stripe to Eventene).

If your organization does not already use Stripe, you can Sign Up and Create a Stripe Account. You will need to use a business email address. As part of creating your Stripe account, you will need to provide them with your business details (name, address, EIN, DBA, and industry classification. You will also need to provide them with an account representative or owner name, date of birth. You may also need to supply them with that person's SSN for validation.

After entering the business information, you will need to verify your organization's tax information using its legal name and employer identification number (EIN).

Once your business and tax information is entered, you will want to connect one of your organization's bank accounts to receive the payout funds collected during the event registrations. The connection will work in both directions. You can setup an automatic payout schedule on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Note that the link works both ways. If Stripe may withdraw funds to issue a refund, for example, if there are not sufficient funds within your Stripe account at the time.

Linking Stripe to Eventene

Only one person within your organization can link your Eventene account with your Stripe account, the person with the Owner account privilege. You can determine the name of the Owner account by visiting the Account page, then clicking on the Users tab. The Owner account will be listed first on the Users table.

On the Organization page, as shown below, the Owner will see a "Link Stripe" button to initiate the connection process. After pressing the "Link Stripe" button, you will be taken to Stripe, where you can log in to an existing Stripe account. When ready, press "Authorize access to this account" to finish linking the accounts.

When a Stripe account is properly set up in Eventene it will appear as a linked account on the Account / Organization page, as shown in the following example.
